Crown of Thorns

Crown of Thorns is a game about engineer-psychologists called the Enginespeakers who must help a a giant robot, the Machine, to deal with the loss of their last pilot.

When pilots don the Crown of Thorns, flesh and steel become one. But the pilots break before their machines do. Always. When a pilot dies enthroned in the Machine, an echo remains: memories, emotions, and all the human frailties that the Machine was never designed to process. In order for the Machine to accept a new pilot, the Enginespeakers must convince it to let go of the memory of the last one.

CW: Unavoidable tackling of war, death, loss, grief, and depending on how the Machine and Enginespeakers are played, suicide, militarized gaslighting.
